With Contact Query, you can now build custom contact lists using specific conditions to exclude or target contacts. Whether it’s by list membership, tags, mobile carriers, area codes, or even previous broadcast data, the flexibility is all in your hands. This allows you to create hyper-targeted outreach strategies and engage the right people, every time.

Getting started is simple—head to the Contacts section in your Admin Dashboard, and click on the new “Queries” tab. From there, the Contact Query Builder will guide you through the process of creating and saving your custom lists. Make sure to decide if you want your query to match ALL conditions or ANY conditions.

There are 6 categories of conditions to choose from:

• List Membership will check to see if contacts are on given lists.
• Tag will check to see if a contact has or doesn’t have given tags.
• Mobile Carrier will check to see which mobile carrier is associated with the contact.  This is mostly used to exclude certain carriers (such a T-Mobile) from a set of contacts.
• Data will allow selection of contacts based on data field values.  Comparison operators are fully supported.
• Broadcast will allow restriction or exclusion of contacts based on previous broadcasts they have received.
• Area Code will include or exclude contacts based on the contact’s area code.  Area codes are also tied to a given state or timezone.
